The reason decisions feel so hard
When you say: “I’m trying to decide.” I hear you've chosen: Indecision
Indecision: A wavering between two or more possible courses of action.
Indecision is how motivation gets canceled.
It can seem like a safe place to hide — where you neither commit to this nor that — but most likely, you hide in indecision because you don’t trust yourself to remain loyal to you who made that decision.
Decisions happen in an instant.
What we do next to SUPPORT
our decision is what matters most.
I know this because I'm a recovering perfectionist. I used to reject anything that wasn't 100% perfect.
I was reluctant to commit to a decision because I feared that I'd reject the decision I'd made.
And worse yet, blame the decision-maker — me.
I made it impossible to earn my own approval, so indecision is where I'd hang out to avoid the scariest thing in my life — me.
It was draining and dishonoring until I learned to redirect my mindset and give myself grace.
Decisions happen in an instant. What we do next to support our decision is what matters most.
The constant over-analyzing and procrastination have a mental weakening effect on our resolve. Those who say they aren't good at making decisions are actually just unsupportive of their own decisions.
